Introducing Voices of Bushy Creek

When we first started planning the Bushy Creek Makers' Fair, we asked ourselves one simple question.

How do we create a Fair that's more than music, food and market stalls?

The answer became Voices of Bushy Creek;a community participation project that invites everyone to become part of the Fair.

Thanks to support from the Australian Government through the Festivals Australia program, we've invited local artists, musicians, writers and makers to work with our community, creating opportunities to learn, participate, share stories and celebrate together. The 

Create with us

Leading up to and during the Fair, you'll be able to take part in a range of creative activities.

• Join a clay workshop and create a word for the project - insert URL to event.

• Help create a community artwork during the fair.

• Contribute to poetry and storytelling inspired by our region.

• Hear original music created from the words and stories of our community.

Whether you're young or old, a lifelong local or visiting for the weekend, there's a place for you.

Meet our community artists

Over the coming weeks we'll introduce the talented local artists helping bring Voices of Bushy Creek to life, including ceramic artist Wendy Wajer, weaver Tarina Rose Trundle, spoken word artist Gabriella Georges, and musicians Jasper Rae and the R3volutIon Crew. The Julatten Mens Shed is working on a top secret centrepiece to be revealed during the opening ceremony.

Their role isn't simply to create artwork; it's to help our community create something together.

A celebration of community

As the Fair unfolds, Voices of Bushy Creek will continue to grow.

Join us for the dusk lighting of our community centrepiece on Saturday evening, then return on Sunday as poetry, storytelling and original music bring the voices of our community to life.

We can't wait to share it with you.
