Bushy Creek Makers’ Fair 2026 Program
Two days of live music, handmade goods, workshops, demos, kids’ activities, great food and plenty of chances to stop and chat. Gates open at 8am both days; the Makers’ Market opens at 9am.
.Saturday ends with a sunset ceremony and a main-stage concert by the Carinda Christie Band. Sunday offers more music, making and friendly contests, finishing with the Bushy Creek Song.

Happening Across the Weekend
Makers’ Market
Wander among handmade goods, local produce, artwork, plants and practical creations from makers and growers across Far North Queensland.
Saturday: 9am–5pm
Sunday: 9am–4pm
Food and Coffee
Coffee will be available in the Main Hall from 9am, with food stalls and food trucks serving throughout the day. Come hungry and leave room for something homemade.
Kids Zone
Young makers can join in with paper craft, games, storytime and other creative activities across the weekend. Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying adult.
Workshops and Demonstrations
Learn directly from local bakers, artists and craftspeople through sourdough, leatherwork, tea blending, songwriting, spoon carving and other hands-on sessions.
Some workshops may require registration or an additional materials fee. Booking information will be added once confirmed.
Men’s Shed Bar
The Men’s Shed Bar opens Saturday afternoon and from midday Sunday, with acoustic sessions and a Saturday gin tasting adding a little extra flavour to the weekend.

Saturday: Opening Day
Saturday opens the inaugural Bushy Creek Makers’ Fair with a full day of making,
music and community, carrying on into the evening for our main-stage concert.
Morning at the Market
The Makers’ Market opens from 9am, bringing together handmade work, local produce and plenty of talented people to meet. Start the day with coffee in the Main Hall, join Euluma Bakes for a sourdough workshop and gather for the Fair’s official opening at 10am.
Music and Emerging Talent
Live music runs throughout the day, with performances from Imogen Kelly, Lielo Bea, Andy Brassett and Jasper Rae, alongside an Emerging Artist Feature, lunchtime acoustic music and an afternoon Open Mic.
Make, Learn and Join In
Have a go at tea blending or songwriting, watch traditional skills in action and find creative activities for all ages across the Craft Corner, workshop spaces and Kids Zone. There will also be paper craft, storytime, sack races and plenty of good old-fashioned silliness along the way.
Into the Evening
As the Makers’ Market winds down, gather around the Village Fireplace for a campfire singalong before settling in for the Saturday evening program. The Men’s Shed Bar, sunset ceremony and a main-stage concert from the Carinda Christie Band will carry the Fair into the night.

Sunday: One More Day at Bushy
Sunday is a little slower around the edges, but there is still plenty happening
across Geraghty Park before we bring the inaugural Fair to a close.
A Bushy Kind of Morning
Begin with coffee and another wander through the Makers’ Market,
or bring the kids along for Bushy’s morning treasure hunt. A leather workshop, qigong
demonstration and nature-inspired making offer a relaxed start to the day.
Friendly Competition
Sunday brings some of the weekend’s most spirited community events, including the Firies Tug of War, sack races and the Beard Competition. Expect cheering, questionable athletic ability and very serious judging of facial hair.
Sunday Sounds
Live performances continue throughout the afternoon with Andy Brassett, Sisi, Revolution and Kulki Kwaya, along with relaxed acoustic sessions near the Mens Shed Bar and community music as the day draws to a close.
Another Day to Make
Tea blending, spoon carving, children’s crafts, games and storytime continue across the grounds. It is also another chance to meet the makers, revisit a favourite stall or find the thing you nearly bought on Saturday.
Closing Bushy
The weekend comes together one last time at sunset, with a closing ceremony and the Bushy Creek Song marking the end of the very first Bushy Creek Makers’ Fair.
